Question 1

AIM: The aim of the experiment is to investigate the operational function of a logic circuit.
   

  1. Connect the circuit as shown in Figure 1.
  2. Ask the supervisor to check the circuit connection.
  3. You are given Table 1.

  1. Connect switches S1 and S2 to their low (L) positions and switch ON the power supply unit.
  2. Measure and record in Table 1, the output voltage (Vout).
  3. Repeat steps (d) and (e) for the other positions of switches S1 and S2 as shown in Table 1.
  4. Switch OFF the power supply unit.
  5. Complete Table 1 by writing logic state ‘0’ for Vout less than 1 V and logic state ‘1’ for Vout greater than 1 V.
  6. From your result, state the logic function performed by the circuit.
  7. Write the Boolean expression for the logic circuit.
  8. Draw the logic gate symbol for the circuit.
