General Comments

 

The Chief Examiner reported that the standard of the paper compared favourably to that of the previous year in terms of the concept tested and the skills measured. The questions were within the scope of the syllabus as well as the ability of the candidates. It was reported that the rubrics were clearly stated and the marking scheme was comprehensive.

 

The time allotted for the paper was adequate. The Chief Examiner also reported that candidates’ performance was slightly lower than that of the previous year. The paper this year recorded a drop of 9.10% in candidature with raw mean score of27 out of 45 and standard deviation of 8.60 as compared to WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020 which had a raw mean score of 24 out of 45 and standard deviation of 7.55. WASSCE for School Candidates, 2019 recorded a raw mean score of 29out of 45 with standard deviation of 8.77.
