General Comments

 

The Chief Examiner reported that the standard of the paper compared favorably to that of the previous year in terms of the concept tested and the skills measured. The questions were within the scope of the syllabus as well as the ability of the candidates. It was reported that the rubrics were clearly stated and the marking scheme was comprehensive.

The time allotted for the paper was adequate. The Chief Examiner also reported that candidates’ performance compared favorably with that of the previous year though slightly lower this year. The paper this year recorded a drop of 9.10% in candidature with raw mean score of 14 out of 30 and standard deviation of 4.47 as compared to WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020 which had a raw mean score of 19 out of 30 and standard deviation of 6.48. WASSCE for School Candidates, 2019 recorded a raw mean score of 16out of 30 with standard deviation of 4.58.
