However, majority of the candidates were not able to:

  • Explain the need for constructing an access road to a construction site;
  • State three advantages of using a metal gate over a wooden gate.

    • To enable vehicles to enter the site in all weather
    • For ease of transporting materials/equipment
    • For conveying operatives and staff.
  2. Reasons for hoarding a construction site
    •   To keep off construction debris from affecting neighbouring building
    •  To provide security to the workmen
    •  To prevent unauthorised person into site
    •  To control movement of vehicles in and out of construction site
    •  To ensure privacy
    • To check pilferage on construction site.
  3. Advantages of a Metal Gate Over Wooden Gate
    • Stronger
    • More durable
    • Resistant to termite attack
    • Fire - resistant or not combustible
    • Not easily destroyed by rain water
