Candidate's Weakness

 The weaknesses of candidates were observed in the following areas:

• Commission of grammatical mistakes;
• Misinterpretation of the questions;
• Writing lesser than required number of the words in Essay/Composition;
• Writing of irrelevancies;
• Illegible handwriting;
• Display of shallow knowledge of the set texts;
• Inadvertent violation of rubrics.

Suggested Remedies

To address the reported weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended the following:

1. Candidates should be encouraged to thoroughly read and understand the questions before attempting them;
2. Provision of the qualified teachers to teach Arabic ;
3. Candidates must read the instructions so as to adequately understand the demand of the questions before attempting them;
4. Candidates should endeavour to answer questions in a logical and clear manner;
5. Conscious efforts should be made by candidates to write legibly in Arabic;
6. Candidates should learn and master the correct spellings of the vocabulary;
7. Candidates should procure the prescribed texts for Arabic literature.
