The standard of the paper compared favourably well with those of previous years.  The
      questions were clear and straight forward and within the scope and content of the syllabus. 
      The items and rubrics were unambiguous.  The time was quite adequate.

      The paper tested the candidates

• familiarity with the use of common laboratory apparatus
• ability to read/take measurement
• interpret data
• manipulate/analyse data
• record data in acceptable forum
• ability to make deduction from such data
• understanding of the theories behind the experiments.

 The candidates performance was a slightly better than that of WASSCE November/December 2010 as a candidate of 159099 recorded a raw mean score of 24 and a standard deviation of 08.83 as against a candidature of 127326 with a raw mean score of 23  and standard deviation of  09.90 in 2010.
