The standard of the paper compared favourably with those of previous years.  The questions were unambiguous and covered a wide range of the syllabus.  The marking scheme was flexible and comprehensive.

The  performance of the candidates was poorer than the previous year the candidates population of 13,866 had a raw mean score of 20 and standard deviation of 9.59 against a raw mean score of 22 and a standard deviation of 10.30 for the May/June 2012 WASSCE with candidates population of 12,865.
