OBSERVATION

This historical question which bothered on the personality of ‘Ali b. Abi¯ Talib, the Fourth Orthodox Caliph was attempted by many candidates who, at the same time did justice to the question by making reference to his contributions to Islam before and when he became the last Khalifah. Relevant contributions of his which were undermined by candidates include his position as a scribe to the Prophet (S.A.W.) at the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, his generosity to his fellow Muslims and the Dhimmis . In short, candidates performed well here.
