Wrong use of tenses was observed in the writings of some of the candidates. For example some of the candidates used present tense where past tense should be used.
Some of the candidates did not comprehend well the questions and this led to their answering questions out of context.
Some of them used small letters in starting proper nouns e.g. abuja, debola, aisha.

3.         SUGGESTED REMEDIES

(1)   To improve on candidates’ performance, teachers of French should lay emphasis on the rudiments of French grammar in their lessons.

(2)   They should also educate the students more on the importance of reading and understanding questions before attempting to give answers.
