This was a good question for candidates .They could differentiate between Departmental stores and Multiple stores .But some of the distinguishing features of multiple shops were missing from candidates’ answers.
Examples are;
[i]Centralized control; all the branches are controlled from the headquarters although branches have their own branch manager.
[ii]Flexibility ; if shortages of stock and labour can be met quickly by calling on neighbor branch to come to its aid.
