Observation

(a)       This is a narrative essay which required the candidates to mention all the misfortunes that befell them or that they experienced on a particular day.  Also, they were to state how they eventually escaped and lessons learnt from the incident.  Most candidates failed to give vivid account of the incident, their involvement and lessons learnt.

(b)       The essay required the candidates to state the financial involvements in educational funding of a child.  Candidates’ performance was just average.

(d)       It is an expository type of essay on ‘omi’ (water).  The topic is  straightforward and candidates that attempted it performed averagely well.

(e)       Candidates were required to weigh the pros and cons of government establishments/organizations vis-à-vis its private counterpart.  Most candidates did not really balance their arguments.

(e)       An informal letter addressed to a friend in a foreign land on a recently witnessed marriage ceremony.  It was properly handled by most of those who attempted it.
