observation

The candidates in this question were expected to explain or write short
note on the listed types of vowels. The candidates instead of describing the vowel types drew the vowel chart but some of them could not place the vowel correctly. They were expected to explain the production of these listed vowels and buttress their points with the aid of the vowel chart. They were expected to describe the roundedness of the vowels, the part of the tongue where such vowel is produced and the position of the vocal cords i.e. voicing.
