Candidates’ weaknesses included:
(1) inaccurate representations of objects drawn;
(2) poor shading techniques;
(3) poor relative proportion of parts of objects;
(4) violation of rubrics;
(5) poor use of working space;
The weaknesses could be addressed by:
(1) adequate training of students to understand and appreciate the qualities of good drawing proportion; balanced, shading techniques, good layout, perspective and good representation;
(2) students being taught by trained qualified art teachers;
(3) teachers giving enough practical lessons in drawing before any public examinations;
