Candidates' performance was good in (a) part of the question as many of them gave meaningful definitions such as;
- an institution which collects, preserves or exhibits originals of cultural, artistic, scientific and historical objects;
- a place (building) where interesting and valuable objects are kept and displayed to the public.
The (b) part of the question was not properly answered as many of the candidates mentioned the locations of museums as against the types and contents of museums.
Candidates were expected to mention such museums and contents as:
- War museums: house military equipments, weapons as guns, armoured cars etc;
- Folk. museums: groups of buildings telling stories about the way people once lived;
- Art museums: places where painting, sculptures and other art objects are kept and displayed to the public;
- Historical museums: tell the stories of a nation's, cities, men, events or an industries;
- Children museums: arrange exhibitions and plan program for children. Features games, hobbies, clubs, youth organizations and series of other children activities;
- Natural history museums: Collect animals, plants and objects used by people throughout the world;
- Science Museums: exhibit industrial and scientific equipments and processes;
- Site Museums: there you find the residence of past national heroes, battle fields, geographical feature of scientific importance or historical discoveries;
- Applied Science Museums: keep industrial and scientific equipments and processes.
