Candidates were to type on plain A4 paper, take a carbon copy and use today’s date. The letter had to be mailable.
Many of the candidates lacked knowledge of the layout of a mailable letter. Some of the problems/faced by candidates were:
- omission of date;
- wrong placement of address;
- inset instructions were ignored;
- failure to leave enough space for signature;
Candidates’ performance on this task was average.
