Candidates were able to draw an ellipse when the major and minor axes were given.They were constrained to the focal point method. The most important step is to locate the foci-points F1 and F2. Mark out points between Fl and O and complete the ellipse.

For the second part of the question candidates were expected to locate point P; join points F1 and F2 to O. Bisect the external angles to get the target. Some candidates used methods other than the specified while some merely drew the ellipse without constructing the required tangent
