Observation

This question, on projectile motion was very popular among the students.  However, most of the candidates lost the marks because of their failure in applying the law of conservation of energy as demanded by the rubric.

The expected answer is
For energy conservation,
            ½mv2 = mgh
            h =  ½V2
                      g
            =          ½ x 3.0 x 3.0
                                10

=          4 5m
