Question 1

A stone projected horizontally from the top of a vertical wall with a velocity of 25ms-1 hits the horizontal ground at a point 60 m from the base of the wall.  Calculate the time of flight of the stone.

Observation

This question on horizontally projected motion was very popular among the candidates.  The performance was also fair.  However many candidates failed to apply the simple equation x = ut since angle of projection  θ is zero and so cos θ = 1
The expected answer is:
