(a)electrolysis;

(b)electrolyte;

(c)electrode.

Observation

The expected answers are;

(a)Electrolysis is the process of decomposing certain liquids/solutions/molten substances into their constituent/component parts by the passage of electricity through them.

(b)Electrolyte is a liquid/solution/molten substance which will conduct electricity and is decomposed into its component parts in the process.

(c)Electrodes are conductors in contact with an electrolyte through which current enters or leaves an electrolyte.

This question was on electrical conduction through liquids. The question demanded the definition of some terms used. The performance of the candidates was woeful. Only very few of the candidates managed to score some marks.
