This question was well attempted by candidates. In question 8(a & b), candidates could name types of tournament and state factors to be considered when selecting a type of tournament.
In question 8( c), some candidates could not state reasons why government should encourage mass participation in sports.
The correct answers include;
- to promote physical fitness of the people;
- promotion of health through participation in physical exercises;
- raising the standard of performance of sportsmen and women in sporting activities;
- to encourage people to develop interest in sports; to provide opportunity for social interest;
- to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship in the citizenry;
- to reduce crime rate in youths.
