However, in question 6(b), some candidates could not state the difference between isometric contraction and isotonic contraction. The correct answer as include:
Difference between isometric contraction and isotonic contraction:
- Isometric contraction occurs when a muscle is held in a state of partial or complete contraction but there is no change in the length and position of the muscle .
- Isotonic contraction is a type of muscle contraction in which there is shortening and lengthening of the muscle fibre.
