Observation

Few candidates attempted the question. Many' of the candidates were able to list the phases of long jump and instances when a long jump is not valid in long jump event in addition three styles in long jump. Many candidates could not complete the hurdle table correctly.
The expected answers were:
(a) (i)   Styles in long

  2. The hang/Float
  3.  The hitch-kick.

      (ii)           Parts of the lone jump facility

  1. Runway
  2. Take – off board
  3. Landing pit
  4. (b) (i)  Completed chart

The runner

- Conserves energy at the beginning of the race

- Make event distribution of effort/pacing

- lowers his cadence

- Runs close to the leading opponent
- Begins striding at full effort towards the end of the race.
