Over 85% of the candidates answered this question and generally faired well. However, those
who did badly failed to comprehend the question.
In Music textbooks and the syllabus, Nigerian or Ghanaian musicians are clearly listed under
popular, Art, traditional or Folk musicians.

A wrong identification of the Traditional Musicians in 4(a) affected the answers given in 4(b)
and 4(c) even in 4(d), many of them failed to state the roles of traditional music to the African
society while 4(d) also suffered in the hands of the poor candidates.
