The standard and the outlay of the paper compared favourably with those of the previous years. The paper dealt with the general knowledge of quite a number of concepts and definitions as well as candidates’ ability to apply the basic concepts and principles in solving problems. Both the rubrics and the content of the paper were clear and lucid. There was no ambiguity of any sort and the requirements were within the scope of the syllabus. The marking scheme was clear, adequate and lenient with the candidates. Though most candidates failed on technical skills in the general applications of the basic concepts, the performance of the candidates compared well with those of previous years.
