question 5

Compare and contrast Silas’ life in Lantern Yard and Raveloe.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
OBSERVATION

The experiences of Silas in Lantern Yard and Raveloe are contrasts. While in Lantern Yard, Silas’ life is full of hope which ends up dashed and total loss of faith in man and God.

In Raveloe, Silas starts out as a recluse and all attempts to reach him was futile till he loses his gold coins, and finds Eppie. This marks a turning point in his life as he gradually interacts with man, then, God till he achieves a well rounded life full of hope.

Candidates merely narrated the story of Silas rather than address the question.
