| _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ |

Superstition is central to the novel. It is a reflection of the culture and tradition of the people and arouses the interest of the reader.
Superstition in the novel is used to a large extent to advance the plot of the novel. It sometimes distabilises people and families. Belief in superstition also
exposes the extent of the gullibility of people and is also used to expose the heartlessness of some customs and traditions.
The question was a popular one. However, most of the responses of candidates were evidently copy work from short notes so they lacked originality.
