The standard of the paper compares adequately with those of previous years. The questions lack any form of ambiguity but the performance of candidates is still low. This could be attributed to the fact that the candidates for this examination are private candidates most of whom did not have the privilege of continuous and regular teaching.
A very negligible few of the candidates were able to exhibit traces of their having read the actual texts. Most of them merely (obviously) read short notes and summary of texts. So, their responses to questions were very shallow.
