General Comments

The standard of the paper is commensurate with the requirements of the WASSCE syllabus. However, the performance of candidates continue to fall.

From the responses given by the candidates to the questions on set texts, it is obvious that most of the candidates did not study the actual texts. There were ample traces of the candidates’ having a vague idea of the content of the set texts while the ingrained details are missing. Such details can only be grasped when the actual texts are studied. This leads the examiner to conclude that the candidates opted to read summaries of texts.
