OBSERVATION

This question was on Sound processes or Sound pattern. It required the candidates to define or give an explanation of Syllabic nasals in Igbo Sound system. They were also expected to buttress their explanation with four examples showing the Syllabic nasals as having their own Syllables in a word.

They were expected to define a Syllabic nasal thus:

Mkpuruuda ndi ahu abughi udaume
Kpomkwem ma ha na-akpa agwa
dika udame. Dika udaume, ha
na-abu nkejiokwu na mkpuruokwu
Omumaatu-n/ku, n/ne, n/cha, m/fe
M/gba, m/yo, dg.

Not many candidates answered this question correctly. They did not seem to understand the requirements of the question. Their attempts at defining Myiriudaume were poor.
