Question 1

(a).Nwata guchaa akwukwo nwee ezigbo rizolt o ga-enweta ezigbo oru. I kwenyere na nke a?

(b).Ihe mwute mere m, nke m agaghi echefu.

(c).Dee edemede nke isiokwu ya bu ‘O buru na m lo uwa ozo aga m abu onye Igbo.’

(d).Degaara nna gi bi ala Bekee leta
Kooro ya etu nwanne gi nwaanyi gi na ya bi si elekota gi anya ofuma.

(e).Dika onyeisi umuakwukwo, dee okwu nnabata i ga-aguputara Komishona na-ahu maka Agumakwukwo na-akwado ibia uloakwukwo unu.

Observation

Question 1(a).

In this question, candidates were requested to agree or disagree with the view that any child who finishes school with a good result, will get a good job. Those who agree with the statement were expected to mention the following points:

(a) Nwata guchara akwukwo nwere ezigbo rizolt ga-enweta ezigbo oru n’ihi na ndi onyeoru na-acho ndi nwere ezigbo rizolt.
(b) Nwata ahu ga-agafe n’ule owuwe oru obula o lere
(c) Ndi onyeoru ga-enye ya oru n’ihi na ha kwenyere na o ga-eweta amamihe ya n’oru.

Those candidates who were opposed to this view were expected to mention points like:

(a) Mgbe mbu ka ezigbo rizolt na-enye ezigbo oru, o bughizi n’uwa ugbua n’ihi na ‘ihe emebichaala’.
(b) Ihe na-enyezi ezigbo oru ugbua bu ima mmadu
(c) Ndi onyeoru achoputala na mgbe ufodu iji ezigbo rizolt aputaghi na nwata ahu nwere amamihe.

Some candidates who chose this question preferred to oppose the statement supporting their views with relevant points.

Question 1(b).

In this question, candidates were requested to write on a sad experience they will never forget. They were expected to mention

- what happened
- how it happened
- why it made them very sad
- why they will never forget it
- any lessons learnt from it.Not many candidates chose this question. The few candidates who answered it did justice to it. They narrated very touching experiences they would hardly forget. Some of them did not write whether they learnt any lesson from it or not.

Question 1(c).

In this question, candidates were expected to justify why they will want to remain Igbo if they die and reincarnate. They were expected to mention the following points:

- ikwu aha gi, oge a muru gi na ebe i si
- ihe na-amasi gi na ndu ndi Igbo dika
- asusu ha
- ekike ha
- nri ha
- etu ha si ebi ndu
- nkwenye ha di icheiche dgz.

Many candidates who answered this question mentioned many points why they would want to remain Igbo. This was very encouraging.

Question 1(d).
This question requested candidates to write a letter to a sister living abroad informing her about how well the sister whom she is living with here in Nigeria, is treating her. Many candidates that chose this question were at home with it. Some of the points mentioned included:

- inye gi ezigbo nri
- izuru gi akwa na ngwaejiji ndi ozo
- inye gi ego akpa
- ikpo gi apu apu
- ikuziri gi etu e si esi nri di icheiche na etu e si edowe ulo ocha.

These points were to be preceded by the address and the opening greetings.

Question 1(e).

Here candidates were requested to write an address which will be read by the School Prefect to the Honourable Commissioner of Education who will be visiting their School.
Candidates were expected to mention the following points:

- Ndeputa isiokwu edemede
- Ekele mmalite
- Igwa komishona oru oma niile onyeisi uloakwukwo unu rurula
- Irio komishona ka o nyere unu aka n’oru ndi foduzirinu dika itinyekwu
akwukwo n’obaakwukwo, ngwaoru omumu sayensi dg.

Not many candidates answered this question.
