Here candidates were required to state two uses of tone in Igbo Language. They were also requested to state these uses with three examples each.
The candidates were expected to write thus:
- N’asusu Igbo, o bu udaolu na-egosiputa ndiiche na nghota di n’etiti mkpuruokwu ndi yiri onwe ha na nsupe. Examples are: oke (Male), Oke (rat), oke (share), obi (heart), obi (reception room), obi (digging stick).
- N’asusu Igbo, udaolu na-egosiputakwa ndiiche na nghota di n’etiti mwube ahiri ndi nwere otu udi mkpuruokwu. Examples are: O biara (He came), o biara? (Did he come), unu ga-abia? (will you come).
Some candidates were able to state the uses of tone but were unable to give the required examples.
