This was a fairly popular and straight forward question but unfortunately, a large percentage of the candidates wrote on the general objectives of the establishment of the organization. Very few candidates related their answers to Nigeria as an individual country as demanded by the question and hence lost substantial marks. Candidates should have discussed the following benefits to score high marks:
(i) supported Nigeria to end the civil war;
(ii) successfully organized sporting activities in Nigeria e.g. 1973 All African Games;
(iii) supported Nigeria's candidature for international positions e.g.
Chief Akin-Deko F.A.O.;
(iv) the O.A.U. has provided employment for Nigerian professionals who worked at the secretariat and in the agencies, etc.
