This was a very popular and straightforward question. It was adequately answered by most candidates although some were unable to expatiate their points and scored low marks.
Those who scored high marks were able to highlight some of the following points:
(i)Political Instability which eroded the power of the Alaafin;
(ii)Size of the Empire - the capital was far;
(ill)Succession disputes;
(iv)Weakness of the army;
(v)Revolt of Afonja
(vi)Invasion of Fulani jihadists, etc
