This was a straight forward and popular question. However some candidates did not take note of the fact that they should focus on the political features and not on political and economic features In the 'a' part of the question. They were expected to mention, among others that while centralized states were ruled by kings, the non-centralized states had village democracies, the centralized states had regular armies while the non-centralized states had loose forces, the centralized states had established courts of justice while the non centralized states used the elders In the adjudication of justice, in centralized states, administrative positions were well structured while this was poorly developed in centralised states, etc.
The 'b' part on economic activities was adequately attempted by many candidates. Those who scored marks were able to like the following
(I)agriculture - farming was a common occupation;
(ii)Hunting of wild games;
(iii)Fishing along river banks;
(iv)Trading - both internal and external trade;
(v)Craft - wood carving, etc:.
