The candidates’ weaknesses include:
- Poor knowledge of the contributions of Dr. Thomas Lambo and Dr. Ademola Omolulu to Health Science;
- Shallow understanding of questions relating to the life cycle of roundworm, effects of roundworm infestation, control of yellow fever and water borne diseases.
- Inability to describe how muscles bring about movement of the forearm.
The following remedies were suggested for overcoming the weaknesses:
- Efforts should be made to expose candidates to modern textbooks on Health education;
- The section of the syllabus on worm infestation should be well taught;
- Professor Adeoye Lambo’s contribution to psychiatric hospital project at Abeokuta should be taught in schools;
- A review of drugs and the classification of drugs should be taught in schools.
