Candidates’ weaknesses
included their inability to:
- express themselves in English Language.
- understand the requirement of questions leading to irrelevant answers.
- prepare adequately for the examination
- differentiate between digestive system and endocrine system
- understand the concept of excretion
- start the answer to each question on a fresh page.
The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses
- English teachers in schools should begin to introduce simple nursery story books to the candidates to help their understanding and command of the language.
- Candidates should be encouraged by the teachers and even by the supervisors to study the questions and understand the demand before attempting them.
- Candidates should be encouraged to buy and read the prescribed textbooks while teachers should endeavour to cover the syllabus adequately.
- Teachers owe it a duty to teach and train candidates to adhere to the rubrics.
