The standard of the paper was high and compared favourably with those of previous years. The rubrics were clear, the questions were unambiguous and within the scope of the syllabus. The marking scheme was exhaustive and flexible. The performance of the candidates was slightly better than that of previous years with a mean score of 27 and a standard deviation of 16.25 compared with a mean score of 23 and a standard
deviation of 12.96 for May/June 2006 WASSCE.
