The question was very popular with candidates. Some of the candidates that attempted the question were unable to give the required six points. Some other candidates who managed to remember the points merely mentioned them. This robbed them of enormous marks.
However, the good candidates who remembered the points and articulated them scored good marks. The overall candidates' performance in the question was averagely good.
The good candidates did not forget to highlight some of the following merits:
(1) the constitution increased Nigerians representation on the Legislative Council;
(2) it brought the North and South, for the first time, into one Legislative Council;
(3) it provided for unofficial majority in the Legislative Council;
(4) the Constitution served as a stimulant for the development of nationalist activities;
(5) it introduced bi-cameral legislature in Northern Nigeria, etc.
