The following points were expected from candidates’ answer
Objectives.
(1)To fight for the four seats allocated to the Nigerians in the newly constituted Legislative Council;
(2)To secure greater political participation of Africans in their own affairs;
(3)To fight for Africanization of the Civil Service, etc.

Factors for Failure
(1)It was a local party, with its activities concentrated in Lagos;
(2)The policies of the colonial administration affected the party negatively:
(3)The formation of Nigerian Youth movement (NYM) which was more dynamic: led to the collapse of the party, etc.
