The question was not very popular with candidates. A few of them that attempted it were able to mention the officials e.g returning officers, presiding officials, polling clerks, etc. but unable to specify the functions performed by each of the officials listed. This robbed them of enormous marks. The overall candidates’ performance in the question was below average. In order to score good marks in this question, candidates were expected to identify the following functions.

(1)Supervising the electoral officer;
(2)Supplying electoral materials;
(3)Issuing ballot papers to eligible voters;
(4)Counting of ballot papers;
(5)Monitoring the conduct of elections, etc.
