This was a popular question to most candidates. the candidates were a.ble to write on the required six points and were: handsomely rewarded.
However, a few candidates had difficulties with the question. Some merely mentioned their points and lost substantial marks. Also, a good number of the candidates misinterpreted the demands of the question and wrote on Government as an academic field of study. AlI these shortcomings reduced the overall performance of candidates in the question to average.
In order to score high marks in the question, candidates were expected to identify some of the following points:
(1)Provision of social services e.g. educational, recreational services
(2)Making of laws for good governance;
(3)Maintaining external relations with other countries;
(4)Use of the police and other agencies to maintain. law and order;
(5)Conduct of periodic elections through an Electoral Commission etc
