This question was quite popular with the candidates. Many of them missed marks in (9a) where they were to draw maps. A good number of candidates were able write well on the benefits of hydro-electric power supply to the people of Africa. These benefits include:

- improved standard of living
- domestic uses – home lighting, cooking, powering
- all sorts of household equipments
- revenue to the government
- foreign exchange to the government
- employment opportunities
- industrial uses in manufacturing plants
- office uses – lighting and powering computers and other office equipments
