This question was attempted by majority of the candidates but the performance was very poor because of the very shallow knowledge that they have on accurate map drawing. Many could not accurately locate areas of leather works, cloth weaving and wood carving with their associated towns. Many of the candidates do not realize the significance of "key" to map, thus loosing much marks.
Most candidates could not identify the characteristics of local craft industries but rather gave characteristics of light industries. The expected answers include
- depends mainly on local raw materials;
- use of simple tools
- highly artistic quality products
- mostly small scaled
- most products sold locally
- mostly run in families
- less capital insensitive
- provision of all-year-round employment
- improvement of living standards of the people
