(b) If the pass mark is 4, what is the probability that a pupil picked at random failed?

Observation

Majority of the candidates did very well in this question.  They  were able to find the mean score by applying correctly the formula x .

The probability of picking a failure  = total no of pupils that scored below 4
                                                                      total no of pupils who took the test     

                        = 16   =    8
