(a)With the aid of a diagram, show how to lay a table for a cove

(b)State three table manners

(c)List any two contents of a cruet set

Observation

Only part (b) of this question was answered correctly by most candidates that attempted the question. The (a) part which requested for a diagram was not well attempted because many of them could not draw and label correctly. Many of the candidates could not understand what a cruet set was, so they could not list contents of a cruet set.

The expected answers are:
(a)

      Key
A - Flat plate
B - Dinner knife & Fork.
C - Pudding Spoon
D - Soup plate                  
E - Side plate & serviette
F - Tumbler
 

(b)      Table manners
(i)Take just enough food that you can comfortably finish
(ii)Avoid talking while having food in your mouth.           .
(iii)Talk in a low tone for people to hear each other
(iv)Pass food as.a role to the right and offer food with the left-hand and with the handle.
(v)Ask to be excused if you need to leave before others.
(vi)Do not stretch hand over peoples food, ask for the food to be passed to you.

(C)      Contents of a “Cruet set” are

(i)salt
(ii)pepper
(iii)mustard
