Summary

The subject matter of the summary passage was familiar to candidates. In spite of this, many candidates were still unable to summarize properly. Some of the candidates brought in irrelevant points that did not even appear in the passage, perhaps as a result of their familiarity with the issue of unemployment. Many others engaged in mindless lifting. It was also evident that some candidates gave their answers in phrases despite the requirements of the question.
Candidates still have a lot of work to do in the acquisition of summary skills.
