(c) Rules of working seams
- Thread used must be suitable for the fabric.
- The width of the seam depends on the texture of the fabric, the finer the fabric the narrower the seam.
- All seams of the same type: on a garment must be of similar width. To avoid puckering of seams on delicate fabrics, place a piece of tissue paper behind the layers of fabrics before stitching them.
- Secure ends of seam.
- The strength of the seam will depend on the firmness or otherwise of the stitching

(d) Characteristics of a good seam
- Should be well stitched; .

- Should be strong in relation to type of clothing.
