Candidates showed considerable improvement in quantitative analysis. Majority of the candidates were able to correctly tabulate the burette readings and calculate the average volume of acid used by using two concordant values in both alternative A and B. They were able to calculate the concentration of A and B in moldm -3 in alternative A and concentration of E in moldm -3 in alternative B.
In the qualitative analysis, candidates were also able to perform prescribed tests, recorded observations correctly and deduced appropriate inferences in the prescribed format in both alternative A and B. Candidates also showed good grasp of the indicators used in acid/base titration.
