question 4

Jonah 3: 1-4, 11
(a)       Relate the response of the: Ninevties to the message of Jonah.
(b)       What two lessons can be derived from Jonah’s experience?

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Observation

Candidates were to say what the Ninevites did when they heard the message of Jonah and to the lessons derived from Jonah's experience, .Jonahs’ mission to the Ninevites was answered by few candidates with low scores. Most of them wrote on the flight of Jonah to Tarshish an concluded where he was swallowed by the big fish. They failed that God can touch the heart of  sinners and change their lives. That Jonah wanted God to punish the Ninevites but God taught him that his desire was to have him repent and to be saved.
For the part 'b' they ought to mention points as (i)God cherishes all that he had made including the ignorant Ninevites and their cattle (ii)God is ready to protect human lives than the lives of the ordinary plants (iii)That no man can question God's judgement.
