- State the use of tripod, ranging pole and site datum;
- Sketch the honeycombed sleeper wall, retaining wall and composite wall.
However; many' candidates were unable to answer the question correctly.

(i) Tripod- supports the instrument firmly in position to allow for accurate operations.
(ii) Ranging pole – used for aligning points on straight lines
- indicating required points on site.

(iii) site datum – used as the standard reference pint for all levelling operations on site.
